Can an international student be a CA? | Yes. |
If I am studying abroad this semester, but plan to return to St. Cloud State next semester, can I apply to be a CA? | Yes. Apply by Nov. 27 and you will be considered for Fall 2019. |
If I am hired as a CA, can I have another job? | For the first semester as a CA, you cannot have additional employment. After that, you may be approved for a maximum of 10 hours a week in another job. |
Can I apply to work in a specific hall? | No. Assignments are determined after hiring. There is room on the application to indicate a preferred hall or apartment. |
If I am a St. Cloud Community & Technical College student, can I be a CA? | No. You need to be a full-time St. Cloud State student. |
If I am part of the Community College Connection program, can I be a CA? | You would need to be a full-time St. Cloud State student your first semester on the job. Consult your hall director for a more detailed answer. |
Is there a GPA requirement? | You must maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 or higher. |

How many credits can I take while working as a CA? | For undergraduate students, no less than 12 credits and no more than 17 credits per semester. For graduate students, a minimum of nine credits. |
Can I be a CA during my first year? | You must earn at least 24 credits before your start date. |
Can someone with zero on-campus living experience be a CA? | Two or more semesters of on-campus living experience is preferred, but not required. |
How many residents are assigned to a CA? | CA's typically have between 30-60 residents on their floors depending upon the building assignment. |
If I am on University conduct probation or University academic probation, can I be a CA? | No. A CA is role model and representative of the institution. A CA must be in good standing with the University to be eligible for this leadership position. |
What are the benefits of being a CA? | You earn skills in leadership, communication, organization, human relations, conflict management and critical-thinking. |
